KNOW YOUR WORTH: SPIRIT, SOUL, AND MIND
By Deborah Emmanuel on 10/6/2025

Your worth runs deeper than what you see in the mirror or what others think of you. You are spirit, soul, and mind—crafted in divine harmony by God Himself. Understanding each part helps you walk in true wholeness and inner confidence.
SPIRIT
Every person is born with a spirit — a divine signature that connects them to God, and a carnal mind that naturally resists His will.
“But you do not know what manner of spirit you are of.” — Luke 9:55
“God is Spirit, and those who worship Him must worship in spirit and truth.” — John 4:24
Whenever Scripture mentions spirit, it refers to the immaterial, eternal part of humanity that communes with God, who Himself is Spirit.
Your spirit carries divine essence , awareness, creativity, passion, and discernment.
It’s what makes you conscious of God. It’s the candle of the Lord (Proverbs 20:27), the part of you that receives revelation, conviction, and inspiration.
Reflection:
How alive is your spirit toward God? Do you listen when He speaks, or has the noise of life drowned His still small voice?
SOUL
The soul is the seat of your personality, your thoughts, emotions, and will. It’s what makes you you.
“Then the LORD God formed man from the dust of the ground and breathed into his nostrils the breath of life, and man became a living soul.” — Genesis 2:7
When God breathed into man, the combination of His Spirit and our form produced a living soul. Your soul reflects the harmony (or tension) between your spirit and your flesh.
It holds your memories, imagination, conscience, and emotions, it’s the bridge between your spiritual and physical self.
“What shall it profit a man if he gains the whole world and loses his soul?” — Mark 8:36
Reflection Questions:
What priority do you place on the nurturing of your soul?
What do you feed your soul daily—the Word of God or the distractions of the world?
MIND
The mind is the faculty of thought, understanding, and imagination. It interprets both spiritual truths and sensory experiences, it decides what you accept or reject.
“Be transformed by the renewing of your mind.” — Romans 12:2
Your mind should not be a playground for fear or doubt, but a channel for divine wisdom. It is renewed through Scripture, purified through meditation, and guarded through prayer.
When your mind aligns with your spirit, your soul finds peace. But when it aligns with the flesh, confusion arises.
Reflection:
What do you allow to shape your thoughts?
Is your mind yielding to the Spirit or resisting Him?
In Summary
Knowing your worth begins with understanding that you are a spiritual being with a soul, living in a body.
Your true value is not defined by outward things, but by the divine breath within you.
To truly walk in worth, your spirit must be awakened, your soul restored, and your mind renewed.
“May your whole spirit, soul, and body be kept blameless at the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ.” — 1 Thessalonians 5:23
You are made of divine substance—never forget that your worth begins and ends in Him.
